Complimentary Life Insurance/AD&D Policies
All active PPOA members are provided with the following valuable insurance policies at no cost:
- $2,000 life insurance policy carried by ING Insurance Corporation
- $2,000 AD&D supplemental policy carried by ING Insurance Corporation
- $2,000 AD&D insurance policy carried by American Income Life Insurance
Group Term Life
All active members are given a $2,000 Term Life Insurance policy at no cost.
Peace Officers Relief Fund
All active full-time employees of the County of Los Angeles who are sworn peace officers as defined by California Penal Code Section 830.1 and belong to collective Bargaining Unit 612 (Sergeants, Lieutenants, and Supervising Investigators) are participants at no cost.
- Long Term Disability
After ninety (90) days of continuous disability, under the care of a licensed physician, the monthly benefit is 60% of Basic Gross Monthly Earnings up to a maximum of $5,400 or a minimum payment of $100. Other income received at the time of disability is taken into consideration. - Life Insurance
A benefit of $100,000 is paid for loss of life. Plus Survivor Support Benefit with financial planning and counseling for the surviving spouses.

Group Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
This program is available to all active members. Limits of liability available in increments of $10,000 up to $150,000. Spouse coverage of $10,000 and dependent children coverage to $5,000 is also available. Up to 50% of life benefit may be paid in advance when diagnosed as terminally ill.
Short & Long Term Disability for Civilian Members
Total and partial coverages, 24-hour protection on/off duty.
Voluntary Term Life Insurance for Spouse and Dependents
Coverage is for loss of life due to illness or accidents. Spouse may be insured up to $100,000 and dependent children insured up to $10,000.
Personal Accident Insurance
This AD&D plan pays a basic benefit for loss of life or dismemberment. It also offers a minimum of 10 additional features including a coma benefit, a day care benefit, a tuition benefit, and more. Maximum AD&D benefit is $250,000. Family coverage is available.
Free Non-Job Related Legal Consultation
Every PPOA member is entitled to a free one-hour consultation each year with an attorney to discuss matters not related to employment.

Many PPOA members are eligible for a FREE body scan, courtesy
of HealthView Body Scan, Inc.
This is a limited-time offer for members who prefer to be
proactive about their health. The procedure (normally $750) is
offered with absolutely no out-of-pocket expenses, thanks to a
partnership between Dr. Eisenberg and Blue Cross Insurance. To
be eligible, PPOA members must be actively employed with Los Angeles County and carry ALADS Blue Cross Health Insurance.
