I want to congratulate those of you who have recently retired. For those who have been enjoying retirement, I wish you continued success and, most importantly, a continuously healthy lifestyle.
I want to highlight an individual who has been a consummate professional to all PPOA members, whether you have worked with her directly or indirectly. Undoubtedly, you will all agree that professional staff members are the most valued employees who work behind the scenes and make our Department run efficiently. On June 7, Executive Sheriff’s Secretary Anna Agosto retired after working for our Department for 39 years. I worked with Anna in 2014 while assigned to the Board of Supervisors Liaison Team. At the time, Anna worked in the Undersheriff’s Office and was a great mentor to me and to all professional and sworn staff she worked with daily. I was extremely impressed with her professionalism and attention to detail, and how delicately and efficiently she handled any situation.
Anna began her career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 1983 as an Intermediate Typist Clerk. She was promoted to Word Processor in 1986 and assigned to East Los Angeles Station. In 1987, she was promoted to Sheriff’s Station Clerk II and remained at East Los Angeles Station. In 1995, Anna was promoted to Secretary V and was assigned to Administrative Services Division. Anna is known for her hard work, professionalism and unselfish demeanor. She mentored professional and sworn staff members she worked with, was promoted several times and was assigned to the Office of the Assistant Sheriff, Office of the Undersheriff and ultimately Office of the Sheriff. Anna served as the Executive Secretary to Sheriff Alex Villanueva and led with steadfast integrity and tireless dedication to the office, the citizens of Los Angeles County and all the men and women of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
PPOA would like to congratulate Anna for her distinguished service to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and wish her the best in the next stage of her remarkable career.
