PPOA Delegates Doing It Right

July 19, 2019

PPOA Delegates
Lt. Robert Maus and the LADA Honor Guard with family of fallen Sgt. Ron Helus in Washington, D.C.
Manny Munoz
Senior Criminalist and gold medalist Manny Muñoz

Congratulations to Senior Criminalist Manny Muñoz for earning first place overall (and several other awards) in Trap, Skeet and Clays at the Nevada Police & Fire Games! The longtime PPOA delegate and former Board member has more than 30 years of County service and, as you can imagine, is a talented marksman. Nice work, Manny!

We’ve always been very impressed with the work and professionalism of the Los Angeles County District Attorney Honor Guard at memorials and PPOA events over the years, yet they raised it to another level in May (at a moment’s notice) at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. Upon learning that the family of fallen Ventura County Sheriff’s Sergeant Ron Helus was arriving a day early and, consequently, would have no Honor Guard officers awaiting them at the airport, LADA Lieutenant Robert Maus (a dedicated PPOA delegate) and his team needed only 95 minutes to make it to their hotel, don their uniforms and arrive at the airport in time to be brought to the gate and grant honors to the family as they exited the aircraft. Thank you for going above and beyond!
